Sedap Singapore Series: Wee Nam Kee & Tian Tian Chicken Rice

I prefer the white meat. Both kinds were moist and juicy.

Wee Nam Kee!

in NovenaVille, infront of the Novena Church

condiments tray

garlic-ginger, dark soy sauce, sambal chilli sauces

Soy and Roasted Chicken, white meat (SGD8, good for 2). The best tasting chicken rice :) The breast part (white meat) was not dry nor bland, rather it was moist and juicy.

Cereal Prawns (SGD 16) - the smallest serving. Price was quite steep though.
An order has 8 pieces of prawns with the oh-so addicting sweet-spicy-salty-milky crunchy cereal bits of heaven.

Tian Tian

Tian Tian Chicken Rice hawker stall - the stall made even more famous by Anthony Bourdain (No Reservations, Travel & Living)

There was a long queue in this hawker stall. The chicken rice was pegged at SGD4 with soup, which was good for one person. Taste-wise, it kind of lacks that "chicken rice flavor" that I was expecting, I guess Wee Nam Kee is far more better. :)

Though I still have to try Five Star, Sin Kee, Boon Tong Kee, Pow Sing, Heng Ji, and the infamous Chatterbox, for that matter.

Curry Laksa Noodles

laksa noodles (SGD4.20), two stalls away from Tian Tian.

They used various ingredients like cockles, fish cake, prawns, bean sprouts, and rice vermicelli. I might say that this is close to the original (Katong), though it is not the best tasting lemak laksa. :(

Though I still have to try 328 Katong Laksa and Depot Road Zhen Shan Mei Claypot Laksa versions

This is the last of the Singapore Food Series :)
